Billie, Mary Alice, Helen, and Natalie are all the closest of friends with one deadly secret that stretches back decades, and which none of them have ever shared with anyone outside of their own tight-knit group. For in reality this seemingly innocuous group of middle aged women have all been employed for decades by a highly secretive organisation known to its elite membership as ‘The Museum’.
Part of a worldwide network of deadly efficient assassins, each of them have managed to carefully perfect their own talents until they were considered individually or as a group the best at what they do.
Now they are considered to be too old-school by the newer generation of The Museum’s currently active employee roster, and no one appreciates any longer what they have achieved in the past. After beating the odds and surviving for so long, they all decide that the time is ripe to retire and go onto the inactive list. After informing The Museum of their intentions they are rewarded for their decades of loyal service with an all expanses paid vacation together, before each of them goes off on their separate ways.
Instead of a pleasant vacation, they soon find themselves being targeted by one of their own.
Only ‘The Board’ – the highest level of membership inside The Museum – can order the termination of agents in the field, and the women soon realise they’ve all been marked for death and not retirement after all. Now to get out of The Museum’s trap alive they soon find themselves having to turn against their own organisation’s resources and its people, instead relying on each others experience and capabilities, in order to ensure their own survival.
They’re about to teach The Board exactly what it really means to be a woman — and a killer — of a certain age.
Older women often feel invisible, but sometimes that can be their secret weapon.
