About Islamic Conquests Throughout the Ages

Islamic Conquests Throughout the Ages traces the military and moral history of Islamic expansion, from the first battles fought under the Prophet Muhammad…

Islamic Conquests Throughout the Ages traces the military and moral history of Islamic expansion, from the first battles fought under the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) through the era of the four Rightly Guided Caliphs and into the Umayyad, Abbasid, Ayyubid, Mameluk, and Ottoman periods. Prof. Dr. Abdul Aziz Ibn Ibraheem Al Omary builds the book around the idea of al-futooh, "opening" or conquest — not just the taking of territory, but the wider da'wah that went with it.

Section 1 covers the Prophet's own campaigns in order: Badr, Uhud, the Battle of the Trench, the conquest of Khaibar, Mu'tah, the conquest of Makkah, Hunain and Ta'if, and Tabook. Section 2 moves into the era of the Rightly Guided Caliphs, covering the conquests in Persia and against the Byzantine Empire, beginning with the caliphate of Abu Bakr As-Siddeeq and the expedition of Usamah ibn Zaid, then continuing through the Islamic states that followed.

This English edition was translated by Sameh Strauch and published by Darussalam as a large-format hardcover: 501 pages, 17 x 25 cm.
